Local Comics Artist Mike Norton Widens Orbit With 2 Big June Releases Revival and Krypto

Chicago, ILLocal News

Mike Norton celebrates two major milestones this June: the debut of the SyFy adaptation of his comic “Revival” and the release of “Krypto: The Last Dog of Krypton. ” Norton, a 52-year-old artist with numerous accolades, was eager to illustrate Krypto’s origin story, motivated by his love for animals. The five-part series showcases Krypto’s journey from Krypton to Earth, told entirely through visuals without dialogue. Norton co-created “Revival” with Tim Seeley, which addresses the question of how to depict zombies differently, resulting in a murder mystery set in a quirky town. Initially skeptical about the adaptation process, Norton has started to appreciate the journey, especially after seeing the first episode air on June 12.

The pilot is available for free on YouTube, with the rest of the series streaming weekly on Peacock. Norton’s work reflects a blend of humor and emotional depth, appealing to a diverse audience. His two projects highlight the evolving landscape of comic adaptations into mainstream media.
