Chelan High School earns state accreditation through AESD process
Chelan High School has achieved full accreditation from the Washington State Association of Educational Service Districts, as announced on June 5 by the Lake Chelan School District. This recognition, awarded by Northwest Educational Service District 189, underscores the school’s commitment to academic achievement, boasting a graduation rate consistently above 95%. Superintendent Brad Wilson highlighted the collaborative efforts of students, educators, families, and community members in obtaining this honor. The accreditation process follows a six-year cycle that prioritizes continuous evaluation and improvement. Principal Jamie Pancho praised the dedication of the school community, stating that the recognition validates the hard work of teachers and staff.
The school has also increased its dual credit enrollment from over 50% to 78% as of 2024. Chelan High School stands out as one of only nine high schools in the North Central Washington region with current AESD accreditation, which will last until 2031. A formal progress check is scheduled for 2028 to monitor continued growth.
