Chelan, Manson schools honored by the state for closing educational opportunity gaps

Chelan and Manson schools have been recognized by the Washington State Board of Education for their notable efforts in closing educational opportunity gaps. Morgen Owings Elementary and Chelan Middle School were honored as part of the Washington School Recognition Program for their success in the 2023-24 school year. Manson High School achieved recognition in the Closing Gaps – Graduation category for significantly improving graduation outcomes. This accomplishment places Manson High among the top 16% of schools in Washington, according to Superintendent Tabatha Mires. The awards reflect a collaborative effort among students, staff, and families to create equitable learning opportunities.

Superintendent Brad Wilson highlighted the commitment of educators and the community in promoting student success. Each recognized school will receive a banner to commemorate their achievements. Such accolades emphasize the importance of teamwork in advancing educational equity.
