City of Chelan preps parks, projects for summer
The City of Chelan has implemented updated park regulations to improve visitor experiences as the summer tourism season approaches. Operating hours will be from 7 a. m. to 11 p. m.
, and restrictions will apply to tent structures and cooking equipment, with only certain types of shade structures allowed. Alcohol is prohibited in city parks, except in designated areas at Lakeshore RV Park and Lake Chelan Municipal Golf Course. To enforce these new rules, the city will collaborate with the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, increasing patrols and installing new signage. In addition to park policy enforcement, two major infrastructure projects will commence this summer. The Lakeside Trail will connect Downtown Chelan to the Lakeside neighborhood, featuring landscaping improvements and safer pedestrian crossings.
Upgrades to the city's aging water and sewer systems will also take place, potentially causing traffic delays on major roads. Residents can stay informed about updates and traffic impacts by visiting the city website or signing up for real-time alerts.
