Manson Public Library to temporarily close for interior updates

Chelan, WALocal News

Starting May 19, the Manson Public Library will temporarily close for renovations, with an anticipated reopening in late summer. This initiative is part of the $10 million Reimagining Spaces Project, which aims to modernize NCW Libraries' facilities. Manson Branch Librarian Cindy Simmons emphasized the importance of community feedback, with over 350 local residents participating in the planning process. The renovation will introduce new flooring, paint, electrical work, and flexible furniture to create a more inviting and functional space. Notable features will include mobile shelving, study pods, and a self-checkout kiosk.

Additionally, the project will enhance the library’s entryway to meet ADA standards, with funding from two grants awarded to the library board. During the closure, library patrons are encouraged to utilize the Chelan Public Library for their needs. This project reflects a commitment to improving community resources and accessibility in Manson.
