Deputies Apprehend Suspect after High Speed Chase

Chelan, WALocal News

A high-speed chase on November 23, 2025, ended with the arrest of 37-year-old Charlie Suarez in Chelan, Washington. The incident began when a deputy observed Suarez’s silver sedan speeding and exhibiting signs of impairment. As the deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Suarez fled at speeds exceeding 20 miles per hour over the limit. Deputies executed a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT maneuver) at a roundabout, successfully bringing the vehicle to a stop. Suarez exited the car and advanced aggressively toward the deputies, who then deployed a Taser to safely take him into custody.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported among deputies or bystanders during the incident. Suarez faces multiple charges, including attempting to elude police, driving under the influence, and reckless driving, which will be forwarded to the Chelan County Prosecutor’s Office. Such incidents underscore the dangers of impaired driving and the challenges law enforcement faces in ensuring public safety.
