Regional Port Holds Community Meeting Regarding Proposed TIA in Malaga
The Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority is set to hold a community meeting on November 17 from 6:00 to 7:30 p. m. at Mission View Elementary in Wenatchee to discuss the proposed Tax Increment Area (TIA) in Malaga. Attendees can learn about the Tax Increment Financing process and how it may benefit local infrastructure and economic development. The TIA boundary encompasses key properties, including the newly established Microsoft site and the former Alcoa Plant, which are crucial for future growth.
Although the TIA will not fully fund all necessary improvements, it could provide a substantial funding source to attract additional public and private investments. There are significant infrastructure needs in the area that must be addressed to facilitate development. The meeting will allow residents to voice their concerns and ask questions about the initiative. The proposed investments are expected to spur local economic development and create jobs for the region. This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to revitalize underdeveloped properties in Chelan County.
