Chelan Middle School brings circus comedy Under the Big Top to the stage

Chelan, WALocal News

Chelan Middle School's drama students will perform ‘Under the Big Top’ on November 21 at 7 p. m. and November 22 at 2 p. m. at the CHS Performing Arts Center.

The comedy follows the Marlow Little Big Top Circus, which is one performance away from foreclosure due to financial troubles. The story unfolds as a bank representative sent to shut down the circus ends up joining the clowns, while a scheming secretary absconds with the owner's money, leading to a chaotic search. With over fifty students participating, the CMS Drama Club, under advisor Cindy Bertome, cultivates a strong sense of community through its productions. Admission is free, with voluntary donations encouraged to support costumes, sets, and future productions. This event offers an affordable entertainment option for families, especially with performances just before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Parents and younger siblings can easily access the venue, enhancing the appeal for local families.
