CRDTF Dismantles Large Scale Cannabis Operation

Chelan, WALocal News

On October 22, 2025, the Columbia River Drug Task Force arrested Yahui Wu, 51, during a coordinated raid on illegal cannabis growing operations in Douglas County. The operation involved collaboration with the East Cascade SWAT Team and other agencies, targeting properties in the 21800 block of US Hwy 97. Authorities discovered thousands of illegal cannabis plants and seized over 3,000 during the raid. Wu faces serious charges, including illegal manufacturing and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. The buildings used for cultivation were cleared of dangerous chemicals by the Washington State Department of Ecology.

The task force warned that harvested plants could have been sold illegally throughout the country. This operation underscores the ongoing challenge of illegal drug cultivation in Washington state. Community safety remains a priority as law enforcement continues to dismantle such operations.
