Vivian Edwards named new Branch Librarian for Chelan and Manson Libraries

Chelan, WALocal News

Vivian Edwards began her role as branch librarian for the Chelan and Manson Public Libraries on July 1, a position designed to foster collaboration between the two libraries. This change comes after the retirements of Cindy Simmons and Diedre Beltran, who dedicated 30 and 20 years to their respective branches. Edwards enters a pivotal time, with the Manson Library recently renovated into a flexible “community living room” space. The Chelan Library is preparing for a major refresh, scheduled to start soon. Originally from Olympia, Edwards holds degrees in English literature and library science, bringing experience from both the Pierce and King County Library Systems.

She stated her passion for public libraries stems from previous work supporting youth in need, emphasizing the importance of community connection. Edwards looks forward to understanding the distinct characteristics of Manson and Chelan while continuing the legacy of impactful librarianship. More information about the renovations can be found on the NCW Libraries website.
