First annual Manson Walk for Air a success

Chelan, WALocal News

The Manson Volunteer Firefighters Association hosted its inaugural Walk for Air on October 11, gathering community members to support local families in need. Ten firefighters walked 2. 8 miles in full gear from Fire Station #2 to Station #1, showcasing community unity. This event raised funds for the Association's Season of Hope program, which has provided assistance since 2007. Initially distributing $100 grocery gift certificates to ten families, the program expanded to help 65 families with over $20,000 during the pandemic.

Doug Penski, the Association's President, highlighted the importance of community contributions for continued support. The Association also aids families displaced by fires and contributes to local youth sports and school programs. Donations can be made in person at Fire Station #1 or via mail to their P. O. Box.

The Association operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, ensuring contributions are tax-deductible.
