Coach Joe Harris, 2013 Boys Soccer team to enter CHS Athletic Hall of Fame
Chelan High School will honor coach Joe Harris and the 2013 boys soccer team by inducting them into its Athletic Hall of Fame on December 30 during halftime of a basketball game against Cashmere. Harris, who retired in 2016, achieved a remarkable 516–260 career record, winning one state championship, three regional titles, and ten league championships over his 25 seasons. His induction into the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2011 highlights his impact on the sport statewide. The 2013 boys soccer team, which finished their season with a 16–7–1 record, made history by becoming the program’s first 1A state champions, sweeping all titles in their league, district, and state competitions. This honor recognizes their accomplishments while also aiming to inspire future athletes to embody the school's four pillars: being Motivated, Open Minded, Respectful, and Engaged.
The district encourages the community to participate by nominating future Hall of Fame candidates through the Chelan athletics website. Both Harris and the soccer team have left a lasting legacy that will continue to influence Chelan athletics for years to come. The event promises to be a celebration of athletic excellence and community spirit.
