Columbia River Shoreline Work Begins at Chelan Falls Park
Construction crews have begun a bank stabilization project at Chelan Falls Park, focusing on approximately 417 feet of the Columbia River shoreline. Chelan PUD plans to use native plants and river cobble to mitigate erosion caused by fluctuating river flows and recreational activities. While the north parking lot will be closed for heavy equipment, visitors can still access sport courts, restrooms, and the boat launch via the south parking lot. The project will run from Monday to Thursday, 7 a. m.
to 5 p. m. , with completion anticipated by December. Shoreline access will be restricted during the work, which aims to enhance the park's ecological health. Local officials highlight the importance of this project for preserving park facilities and ensuring visitor safety.
In spring, planting efforts will resume to further stabilize the area. Residents can visit chelanpud. org/parks for ongoing updates and details.
