FBI Bones found in Rock Island Campground search not human
Federal and local authorities conducted a two-day search near Rock Island Campground for fugitive Travis Decker, recovering bones later identified as animal remains. This search, held on August 25-26, covered nearly 250 acres of rugged terrain and aimed to locate Decker or gather evidence related to the murder of his three daughters, discovered in June. W. Mike Herrington, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Seattle field office, noted that the knowledge gained from electronic mapping will enhance future search efforts. Decker remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous, prompting the U.
S. Marshals Service to offer a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to his capture. The search involved multiple agencies, including the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office and the U. S. Forest Service.
Investigators encourage the public to report any information to the nearest U. S. Marshals office or submit tips online. The ongoing manhunt underscores the urgency of resolving this tragic case. Authorities remain vigilant as they continue their search for Decker and the truth behind the murder of his daughters.
