Grants available for tourism projects through Chelan County lodging tax

Chelan, WALocal News

Chelan County community organizations can now apply for lodging tax grants aimed at bolstering tourism for 2026. The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee has allocated around $221,600 to fund projects that will enhance tourism, extend visitor stays, and boost local retail sales. Successful applicants will need to demonstrate measurable economic benefits from their initiatives. The application process requires a detailed budget outlining both the organization's contributions and the proposed use of county matching funds. To help applicants prepare, the committee recommends drafting responses in a separate document before submitting the online form, which cannot be saved midway.

Applications are due by 5 p. m. on October 10. Questions can be sent to the committee’s email for clarification. This funding opportunity aims to stimulate the local economy through increased tourism and visitor engagement.
