Manson Fire Department Narrows the Field for Deputy Fire Chief Position

The Chelan County Fire District 5 is set to engage the community with a meet and greet on September 11, 2025, for finalists in the Deputy Fire Chief search. Scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p. m. at North Shore Bible Church, the event aims to foster community involvement. The department, assisted by GMP Consultants, reviewed seven candidates before selecting three for interviews on September 12.

The finalists include Raynor Baker, a Lieutenant and Training Officer from Chelan County Fire District # 5, Erik Gochnour, a Shift Captain from South Mason Fire & Rescue, and Michael J. Williams, a retired Division Chief from Alameda, CA. A special meeting will follow on September 15 to announce the selected candidate. This process highlights the department's dedication to transparency and community engagement in leadership decisions. The chosen Deputy Fire Chief will play a crucial role in enhancing fire safety and emergency services in the region.
