The inaugural Gerry Lopez River Surf Invitational will occur at Lakeside Surf in Chelan over Labor Day weekend, featuring 32 professional river surfers vying for over $40,000 in cash prizes. The competition will showcase various formats, including traditional surfing and best trick sessions, with free public admission. Local surfer Cash Eygabroad is among the top-ranked competitors participating in the event. An open amateur division will conclude on Friday evening, allowing the top male and female amateurs to secure spots in the main Invitational. Lakeside Surf is conveniently located at 106 Waterslide Drive, next to Slidewaters, with free parking available.
