Drop-Off Brush Site Fees at Chelan and Dryden Transfer Stations Increasing
Beginning September 1, Chelan County will implement increased fees for drop-off brush at both the Dryden and Chelan transfer stations due to rising vendor costs. The Dryden Transfer Station will charge $115 per ton for brush, along with a minimum fee of $30 for loads weighing under 480 pounds. In contrast, the Chelan Transfer Station will establish a new fee of $20 per cubic yard, with a minimum charge of $15 for loads less than a cubic yard. Additional fee changes at the Dryden Transfer Station include a $4 fee for used passenger tires when disposed of with municipal waste and a bulk rate of $240 per ton when disposed of separately. Scrap metal disposal will have a minimum fee of $15 for amounts up to 1,000 pounds, increasing to $30 per ton for larger quantities.
Residents can also dispose of up to two non-Freon appliances for $15, with an additional $5 charge for each extra appliance. These adjustments reflect the county's response to increased operational costs while maintaining existing household garbage rates at both facilities.
