A fire erupted at a two-story residence on E. Woodin Ave. in Chelan on August 21, 2025, killing two individuals and injuring two others. Responding to the scene at 5:10 a. m.

, firefighters managed to halt the spread of flames, protecting adjacent properties, including a business called Kidoodles. Eleven people were present in the home; one male victim received treatment before being released, while a female victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center for further care. The identities of the deceased are being withheld as authorities await autopsy results. The ATF and Washington State Patrol are collaborating with local detectives to determine the fire's cause, which remains undetermined. A detour was established on E.
