A new chapter for Riverwalk Books

Chelan, WALocal News

Tyler and Stefani Miller took ownership of Riverwalk Books, a cherished independent bookstore in Chelan, just before the busy Fourth of July weekend. Tyler shared that Stefani had managed the store for almost four years, which helped facilitate the transition. Founded in the 1990s by Libby Manthe, Riverwalk Books has a strong legacy, with Bob Manthe feeling it was time to pass the torch. The Millers plan to maintain the store's familiar atmosphere while thoughtfully updating the inventory to reflect local preferences. They aim to revive community connections that the previous owners fostered, reaching out to local schools, churches, and book clubs.

The return of beloved events, such as the annual “Where’s Waldo” scavenger hunt, is also part of their vision. Their daughters are excited to transition from seeing the store as “mama’s work” to “our store. ” This ownership change marks a new chapter for Riverwalk Books while honoring its rich history.
