State Fire Mobilization Authorized for the Apple Acres Fire

The Apple Acres Fire, located in Chelan County, began on July 2, 2025, and has quickly grown to an estimated 2,000 acres. Local firefighters are receiving assistance as part of the Washington State Fire Services Resource Mobilization Plan, which was activated at the request of Fire Chief Brandon Asher. Level 2 evacuations are currently in effect, as the fire poses a significant threat to nearby homes and infrastructure. The State Emergency Operations Center at Camp Murray has been activated to Level 3 monitoring to help coordinate state assistance. Three strike teams have been ordered to the scene to assist with containment efforts.

The Fire Protection Bureau oversees the mobilization of resources, ensuring quick and efficient deployment during such emergencies. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, raising concerns among residents. The situation underscores the ongoing risks posed by wildfires in the region, particularly during dry conditions.
