Weigel's opened its sixth Chattanooga location on May 22 at 3107 Amnicola Highway, continuing its regional expansion. This new store is the company's eighth travel center and 85th overall, as stated by spokesperson Nick Triantafellou. Weigel's aims to provide a comprehensive experience that emphasizes freshness and community ties. Since 2022, the chain has opened at least one store in Chattanooga each year, shifting its focus from specific growth targets to strategic, long-term development. The travel center model includes amenities such as truck parking and diesel fuel, catering to daily commuters and local neighborhoods.

The company, which started in 1931 as a family dairy business, has pioneered various innovations in the convenience store sector. Triantafellou noted that the new locations will reflect Weigel's commitment to quality and service, with plans for future expansions.
