Chattanooga Man Sentenced for Attempting Sexual Contact with Minor
Brandon McGarvey-Rogers was sentenced to seven years in prison and 13 years of probation after pleading guilty to attempting to engage in sexual contact with a 14-year-old child. The sentencing took place in Catoosa County Superior Court, where district attorney Clayton M. Fuller emphasized the office's zero-tolerance policy for child predators. McGarvey-Rogers contacted the child via Snapchat, sending explicit messages and a photo after confirming the child's age. The child reported the incident to the Ringgold Police Department, which worked with East Ridge Police to locate him.
Following a swift investigation, McGarvey-Rogers confessed to the charges. Fuller warned parents about the dangers of giving children access to smartphones, highlighting the potential risks of online predators targeting minors.
