Chattanooga Public Library Kicks Off Summer Reading Program This Saturday
Chattanooga Public Library's Make. Play. Read. Learn. summer reading program kicks off on May 31, 2025, with activities at all five locations.
The program runs until July 19, culminating in an all-ages finale party at First Horizon Pavilion. Participants under 5 and K-12 students will receive welcome packets containing a free book and a YMCA guest pass. Children under 12 can earn a bookmark for a free kids meal after reading five books. The library has engaged thousands over the past decade, and this year, prizes include Ruby Falls passes and local business gift cards. Will O'Hearn, the Library's Executive Director, highlights community support in fostering youth literacy.
The library invites prize donations and offers digital tracking through the Beanstack app or paper trackers.
