Man federally indicted after alleged Chattanooga jewelry store robbery | Chattanooga Times Free Press
Joshua Lishun Brewer was indicted in Chattanooga's federal court for allegedly robbing Markman's Jewelry, with the incident occurring eight days before Christmas 2021. The indictment states Brewer threatened violence during the robbery. Markman's Jewelry has a long history of burglaries, including a 1986 incident where a man stole unmounted diamonds worth $100,000, leading to a police chase that left one suspect dead. Brewer's alleged crime is classified as a Hobbs Act robbery, which carries a maximum federal sentence of 20 years. He also faces charges of theft of property, criminal simulation, and aggravated robbery in Hamilton County Criminal Court.
The store's owner, Jeff Markman, declined to comment on the case due to its ongoing nature.
