Hamilton County Commission Announces Public Budget Hearings for Increased Transparency

The first hearing will address the general government budget on June 4, immediately following the regular Commission meeting, while the Hamilton County Schools budget hearing is scheduled for June 11. Both meetings will take place at the Hamilton County Commission Chambers in Chattanooga, with attendance expected from local officials, including Mayor Weston Wamp. Eversole stated, 'We work for the people, and they deserve to be informed and involved in how their money is spent. ' He highlighted the importance of public participation in ensuring accountability regarding taxpayer dollars.

The hearings will provide a platform for commissioners to ask questions and for the community to engage in discussions about budget allocations. This initiative reflects the county's commitment to transparency and responsible governance.
