Timothy Dunn Sr, 60, is accused of entering the park on August 28 and damaging numerous plants, vegetables, and gardening equipment, with the estimated damages reaching several hundred dollars. The incident was captured on video by community members, which played a pivotal role in identifying Dunn, along with evidence from Seaside’s FLOCK license plate reader cameras that recorded his vehicle. The vandalism has sparked outrage among local residents, who value the park's role in promoting community gardening and sustainability. Capra Park is maintained through the efforts of both the city and dedicated volunteers, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the community.

As a misdemeanor, the case has been forwarded to the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
