Salinas Man Charged with Fatal Hit-and-Run

A tragic hit-and-run in Salinas has resulted in the death of a 27-year-old man and the subsequent arrest of Jorge Luis Lopez Saenz. The incident occurred on East Alisal Street, where the victim was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead at the scene. Police received a call about the incident and learned that the vehicle responsible had fled. Fortunately, a witness was able to follow the car's path and provide the police with vital information, including the license plate number. Officers located Saenz's car on North Sanborn Road, where they conducted a traffic stop and identified him as the driver.

The vehicle showed signs of damage consistent with the hit-and-run. Although Saenz did not appear intoxicated, police are awaiting the results of a blood analysis to confirm this. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities continuing to seek additional information from witnesses and the community.
