Salinas Man Charged with Fatal Hit-and-Run

In Salinas, a fatal hit-and-run incident has sparked an ongoing police investigation, leading to the identification of 27-year-old Jorge Luis Lopez Saenz as the suspect. The victim was found unresponsive at the scene, and despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead. Saenz faces several serious charges, including vehicular manslaughter, unlicensed driving, and hit-and-run causing death or injury. Witnesses were instrumental in the investigation; one witness followed the fleeing vehicle and was able to provide the police with the license plate number. Authorities subsequently located Saenz’s vehicle on North Sanborn Road, where they conducted a traffic stop and confirmed his identity.

The car showed damage consistent with the accident, indicating its involvement in the incident. Although police stated that Saenz did not appear to be under the influence at the time, blood analysis is pending to confirm this. The investigation remains active as law enforcement continues to gather evidence and witness statements.
