Skagit Valley College students named to 2025 All-Washington Academic Team

Skagit Valley College students Kierra Fisher, Oleg Otstavnoi, and Erica Vela were recognized as members of the 2025 All-Washington Academic Team for their academic excellence and community service. They received their honors during a ceremony on April 24, 2025, at South Puget Sound Community College. Otstavnoi, holding a 3. 9 GPA in Business Management, left Russia in September 2022 and aims to establish a new life in the U. S.

Fisher, the first in her family to attend college, is studying Human Services with a 3. 76 GPA, aiming to help others in recovery. Vela, majoring in accounting, aspires to empower her community using her bilingual skills. The All-Washington Academic Team program celebrates 84 students from Washington’s 34 community and technical colleges. The event underscores the commitment to scholarship and community service among students.
