Guemes Island Ferry Haul-Out, Passenger Only Service to Begin March 15th

Burlington, WALocal News

The Guemes Island ferry is set for a critical haul-out from March 15 to April 29, 2025, following the approval of Resolution R20240249 by the Skagit County Commissioners. The last vehicle ferry sailing will depart Anacortes at 8:30 p. m. on March 14, transitioning to passenger-only service starting the next morning. Arrow Launch will provide this service, accommodating up to 49 passengers and their bicycles or small motorcycles.

During the haul-out, essential maintenance will be performed, including hull painting and routine servicing of major equipment. Notably, the installation of new engines aims to enhance operational efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, aligning with U. S. Coast Guard standards. The ferry's requirement for dry docking every two years highlights the importance of regular maintenance for safety and compliance.

Residents are urged to take advantage of available parking and shuttle services during the haul-out. Additional information, including schedules and fares, can be found on the Guemes Island Ferry website.
