The Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market opens its 2016 season on June 4, operating from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. in the north parking lot of the Des Moines Marina.

The market will run every Saturday until September and will host over 10 food trucks on opening day. New initiatives include Fresh Bucks, which allows low-income families to double their EBT dollars up to $10 for fresh produce. The Healthy Eating Initiative will also continue, providing $10 vouchers for qualified seniors, with over $10,000 issued last season. Sunset Markets will take place on Wednesdays in July and August, offering shopping, dining, and free music in the park. The Clutter to Cash sale will return with booth rentals on select dates for those looking to sell their items.

Market updates will be available through a new cell phone app and the Waterland Blog.
