Burien, WALocal News

Jack Thompson, an Evergreen High alum and former NFL quarterback, attributes his achievements to the guidance of teachers and coaches. Graduating in 1974, he received a football scholarship to Washington State University and was drafted first overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in 1979, where he played in Super Bowl XVI. Now a vice president at Umpqua Bank in Seattle, Thompson reflects on how his mentors shaped his life. He is currently spotlighted in the Highline School District's #HighlineAlum campaign, which showcases successful alumni each month. This campaign encourages students to dream big and pursue their goals.

Last month, the district featured former Normandy Park Mayor Susan West. The initiative seeks to inspire students to graduate high school and make a difference in their communities. The community can participate by nominating outstanding alumni for future features.
