Groundbreaking for construction of new Merril Gardens project will be June 25

Burien, WALocal News

Burien will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the final phases of Burien Town Square at 1 p. m. on June 25, 2015. The project involves the construction of Merrill Gardens, a senior living community with 126 apartments, alongside 228 market-rate apartments managed by Pillar Properties. These developments aim to enhance intergenerational living in downtown Burien, which already features City Hall, a library, and Town Square Park.

Burien Economic Development Manager Dan Trimble noted that these projects reflect the city's economic growth potential. Merrill Gardens operates 25 communities across six states and has similar facilities under development. Legacy Partners has a history of developing over 70,000 multifamily units since 1973. The projects will also incorporate limited retail space and underground parking. Completion is expected by late summer 2016.
