Burien celebrated the groundbreaking of new projects on June 25, marking a significant step in completing the Burien Town Square vision. The Merrill Gardens community will provide 126 apartments for independent, assisted living, and memory care, while Pillar Properties will offer 228 market-rate apartments. Each project will include retail space and underground parking, contributing to the vibrancy of downtown Burien. Burien Economic Development Manager Dan Trimble emphasized the economic progress these developments signify. Merrill Gardens aims for completion by late summer 2016, aligning with its expansion plans in the region.

Pillar Properties, known for creating luxury apartment residences, enhances the area's housing options. The combined developments underscore Burien's commitment to fostering intergenerational living and community engagement. With these additions, Burien continues to evolve as a dynamic urban center.
