Gregory Heights Elementary School launches 2025 Husky Hike fundraiser to improve cafeteria acoustics

Burien, WALocal News

Gregory Heights Elementary School has launched its 2025 Husky Hike fundraiser, targeting a $30,000 goal for soundproofing panels in the cafeteria and multi-purpose room. As of June 1, 2025, the initiative has raised $12,690, highlighting the community's involvement in enhancing the school's environment. These panels are crucial for minimizing noise during lunch periods and improving the atmosphere during school and community events. Monique Serna, Co-President of the PTSA, stated that the upgrades will significantly benefit students and enhance the enjoyment of community gatherings. The Husky Hike serves as a vital source of funding for various PTSA-sponsored programs throughout the academic year.

The need for these upgrades arises from the lack of district funding for such projects. Community members are encouraged to contribute or learn more through the school’s event page. This effort reflects the school’s commitment to providing a conducive learning and event space for both students and residents.
