Local students celebrate Earth Day with mural at Highline Heritage Museum

Burien, WALocal News

Local students partnered with the Highline Heritage Museum to create a vibrant mural using recycled materials, celebrating Earth Day. Participating schools included Burien Cooperative Preschool, The Bridge School, Para Los Niños, and New Futures. The mural is prominently displayed on the museum's east side at 819 SW 152nd Street. Scott Schaefer documented the artwork with photos taken on Earth Day, April 22. This initiative not only enhances the museum's visual appeal but also emphasizes the importance of environmental sustainability in the community.

Engaging students in artistic projects fosters creativity and awareness of recycling practices. The collaboration serves as a model for future community art initiatives. Such projects can inspire similar efforts in other localities, promoting both art and environmental education.
