The City of Burien will host its fifth annual Pride Flag Raising on May 29, 2025, at 10:30 a. m. at City Hall, welcoming all community members to participate. The event focuses on promoting visibility and inclusion for LGBTQ+ residents in the area. Attendees will enjoy free coffee and cookies while witnessing the raising of the Progress Pride Flag, which symbolizes the diversity and struggles of the LGBTQ+ community.

Designed by Daniel Quasar in 2018, this flag has flown at City Hall since the tradition began in 2020. The city encourages the use of the hashtag #CelebrateBurien to amplify support on social media. This initiative aligns with Burien's ongoing efforts to create an inclusive environment for all residents. The Pride Flag Raising serves as a reminder of the importance of representation and community solidarity.
