Burien Arts Gallery broken into early Thursday morning

Burien, WALocal News

The Burien Arts Gallery experienced a break-in at approximately 2 a. m. on July 23, prompting an immediate police response following an alarm activation. According to Sybil Davis, the gallery's representative, only two necklaces and a donation jar with around $20 were taken during the incident. The swift actions of security personnel and responding officers helped mitigate further losses.

However, the gallery faces repair costs of over $800, which presents a significant challenge for the nonprofit organization. As a result, Burien Arts has launched a fundraising appeal for community donations to assist with the financial burden. The gallery has confirmed it will remain open to the public despite the incident. Local law enforcement requests that anyone with information regarding the burglary reach out to Burien Police. This incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by local nonprofits in maintaining operational stability.
