Highline High School Alumni Foundation awards 60,000 in scholarships

Burien, WALocal News

The Highline High School Alumni Foundation celebrated its eighth annual reception on June 8, awarding $60,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors. Each of the 20 recipients received $3,000, an increase attributed to a $20,000 matching donation from alumnus Mike Walsh, Class of '77. In addition to the increased scholarship amounts, three new scholarships were established to honor Walsh's parents, both alumni of Highline High School. Alumni are invited to support the Foundation with a $10 annual membership fee, which directly benefits the scholarship fund. The Foundation encourages contributions beyond dues to enhance its impact.

Furthermore, the annual HHSAF Golf Day is scheduled for August 15 at Allenmore Golf Course, providing an additional opportunity for community involvement. The Foundation aims to strengthen alumni connections while supporting local students' educational pursuits. More details can be found on the Foundation's website.
