Highline Schools Foundation announces more college scholarships for 2016
This week, the Highline Schools Foundation announced enhanced scholarship opportunities for 2016, bolstered by donations from local entities such as Sea-Tac Airport and Alaska Airlines. The foundation aims to serve as a bridge to opportunity for students in Highline Public Schools through its scholarship initiatives. The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Scholarship will award two $20,000 scholarships and one $10,000 scholarship for students pursuing STEM education. Alaska Airlines will now provide four $5,000 scholarships, increasing its commitment to supporting students from Raisbeck Aviation High School. New this year, the TinShip Scholarship will grant one $6,000 scholarship to a student attending an accredited trade school.
The CM Garrity Scholarship, established in 2015, will also continue to offer two $20,000 scholarships to a male and female graduate attending a four-year institution. The Light and Love Scholarship and the Bill Maynard Memorial Scholarship will provide additional funding opportunities for deserving students. These scholarship programs collectively demonstrate a strong investment in the future of Highline's youth.
