Possible tax increase, affordable housing more on agenda for Mon. City Council

The Burien City Council will convene Monday evening to address various pressing issues, including a proclamation for Veterans Day on November 11, 2019. City officials, including the Human Services Manager and Police Chief, will present preliminary research on shelter models in Burien. The agenda also includes discussions on an affordable housing demonstration program, adjustments to the budget, and ordinances regarding surface water management rates and commercial parking taxes. A revision to the noise ordinance will also be considered.

The council aims to tackle significant local challenges such as housing affordability and budget sustainability. The meeting is scheduled for 7 p. m. at Burien City Hall, emphasizing community engagement in governance. These discussions are crucial for shaping Burien's future policies and financial strategies.
