State Board of Education, U.S. News spotlight 10 Highline Public Schools

Seven schools in the Highline Public Schools district garnered recognition for their efforts in improving student outcomes. The Washington State Board of Education honored CHOICE Academy, Raisbeck Aviation High School, Pacific Middle School, and Midway and McMicken Heights elementary schools for their achievements. U. S. News & World Report ranked Raisbeck Aviation High School third among high schools in Washington state, and all four comprehensive high schools in the district made the annual list.

Mount Rainier High School and Highline High School also received special commendations. The rankings were based on metrics like college readiness and graduation rates, with the data sourced from the 2017-18 school year. The Washington School Recognition Program emphasizes schools closing opportunity gaps and demonstrating growth. Superintendent Susan Enfield highlighted the positive impact of these achievements on the school community. This recognition comes amid ongoing challenges, providing a morale boost for students and families.
