The 5th annual Poverty Bay Blues & Brews Festival takes place on Saturday, Aug. 23, at Des Moines Beach Park, with proceeds supporting the Music4Life program that enriches music education in local schools. Attendees can expect a vibrant atmosphere filled with local blues music and a variety of craft brews from nearby breweries. Tickets are priced at $25 in advance and $30 at the gate, including six tasting tokens. The Rotary Club of Des Moines organizes the festival, which will occur rain or shine and is limited to those aged 21 and older.

Food offerings feature barbecued bratwurst and B&E Meat’s famous tri-tip, enhancing the festival experience. Free parking is available at the Des Moines Marina, making access convenient for guests. Additionally, the Des Moines Farmer’s Market will operate from 10 a. m. to 2 p.
