Burien man charged by Prosecutors Office for online laptop robbery, police chase

Burien, WALocal News

Robert Anthony Lomas, 39, faces charges of first-degree robbery and attempting to elude police stemming from a December 22, 2020, incident in Kent. During an arranged laptop sale via Offer Up, Lomas allegedly brandished a firearm, stole a vehicle, and fired a warning shot to intimidate the victims. Witnesses alerted police, leading to a high-speed chase where speeds reached 90-100 MPH. Law enforcement eventually apprehended Lomas after the stolen vehicle crashed. He is currently on community custody and prohibited from firearm possession due to multiple felony convictions, totaling seven.

This case marks Lomas' first referral to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office since a conviction in 2017. His arraignment is set for January 7 at the Maleng Regional Justice Center, highlighting concerns over repeat offenders in the region. The incident underscores ongoing issues related to gun violence and online transaction safety.
