The Highline High Pirates Boys Basketball team has improved their season record to 6-5 after a nail-biting overtime win against Tyee, ending with a score of 63-56. The Pirates fell behind early but rallied in the fourth quarter to take a brief lead, only to allow Tyee to tie the game with seconds remaining. In overtime, the Pirates regained momentum, winning the game with key free throws after a tightly contested period. This victory follows two heartbreaking losses earlier in the season, both decided by just one point against Hazen and Seattle Christian. The Pirates aim to capitalize on this momentum as they prepare for three remaining games in the season.

Their next challenge is against the Wolverines on January 27 at Evergreen, followed by a final showdown against Lindbergh on February 3 at Highline. Isabel Herbruger, an 11-year-old contributor and official photographer for the team, captured the essence of this thrilling game. With the season nearing its end, the Pirates hope to finish strong and secure a favorable record.
