WABI Burien's Walk-n-Talk 'Public Art, Conversation and a Sunny Stroll'
WABI Burien's Public Art Walk-n-Talk on August 4 attracted twenty participants eager to explore local art. Starting at the Burien Community Center Annex, Gina Kallman from the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services led the group through a route featuring twenty art pieces. Attendees learned about each artwork’s background, and the event highlighted the completion of a project creating a walking tour and printed map for Burien's public art. The maps will be accessible at various community venues, including City Hall and the public library. Participants enjoyed refreshments at Phoenix Tea, concluding their artistic stroll.
At the "Dancer" sculpture, sculptor Philip Levine elaborated on his creative process. The event fosters community engagement and appreciation for local art. WABI Burien aims to enhance public awareness of art in the area through ongoing monthly events.
