Burien Actors Theatre needs 10,000 to pay for space for 'Noises Off'

Burien, WALocal News

Burien Actors Theatre announced that “Noises Off” will be staged from February 21 to March 23, with a new location required after a December 10 arson fire at the Burien Annex. The theatre faces challenges in finding a venue with a ceiling high enough for its 16-foot set. To secure a suitable space, BAT must raise $10,000 for rent, which is a more viable option than modifying existing venues to meet code requirements. The theatre is in negotiations to lower the rental cost, but there is uncertainty regarding the willingness of the out-of-state owners to accommodate this request. Community contributions are vital for BAT to achieve the necessary funding.

Donors can support the theatre by donating online or mailing checks. This production is significant for local arts, as it showcases community resilience and support for the performing arts. The urgency of securing funds highlights the impact of the recent fire on local cultural events.
