Highline Schools Foundation announces 2014 Gold Star Nominees

The Highline Schools Foundation has announced the nominees for the 2014 Gold Star Awards, recognizing exemplary educators, volunteers, and staff who have made significant contributions to the district. Winners will be revealed at the Gold Star Awards BASH on March 20, 2014, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at The Production Shop in Burien. This annual red-carpet event, exclusive to those aged 21 and over, will feature music, appetizers, and drinks, creating an engaging atmosphere for celebration. The nominees are distinguished individuals across several categories, including Outstanding Administrator, Outstanding Classified or Professional Support Staff, and Outstanding Teacher. Notable nominees include principals, counselors, paraeducators, and other essential staff members who are instrumental in supporting student success.

Tickets for the event are available for $15, which covers food and entertainment, making it an accessible way for the community to honor local educators. The Gold Star Awards, created in 2012, aim to emulate the excitement of the Academy Awards while focusing on the achievements within Highline Public Schools. This recognition not only highlights individual accomplishments but also strengthens community ties and promotes continued excellence in education.
