Love science and Puget Sound? Volunteer to be a Beach Naturalist with Buriens Environmental Science Center this Summer

Burien, WALocal News

The Environmental Science Center (ESC) announces an opportunity for community members to become beach naturalists at Seahurst Park this summer. Volunteers will engage with visitors during select low tides, answering questions and promoting safe exploration of the marine ecosystem. No experience is required; ESC encourages those passionate about the environment to apply. Participants must be at least 15 years old to volunteer independently, while youth aged 10-14 can participate with a caregiver. New volunteers must attend a 1-hour orientation session this spring, which can be registered for via a provided link.

The initiative aims to inspire a love for science and stewardship in the local community. This program not only enhances public understanding of Puget Sound but also fosters a deeper connection to the unique coastal habitat. For further inquiries, potential volunteers can contact the ESC's Community Engagement Manager.
